Our Biotech Business Development Group if looking for a leader to support a team and drive NBA. Parexel Biotech is dedicated to the biotech industry in supporting our customers with more efficient drug discovery strategies and our regulatory expertise and our support to guide them through an NDA and revenue perspective. We leverage our Subject Matter Experts early in the process to consult with customers to guide them on the right pathway. Our goal is to partner with customers so that each company will thrive in the pursuit of improving the lives of patients.

The Biotech Leader will have full ownership and responsibility for managing a regional sales organization and for ensuring achievement of significant cross-SBU new business growth targets that support the company’s overall objectives. S/he will develop and execute a regional sales strategy to gain market share and build the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. S/he will utilize her/his in-depth knowledge of the Company, competitive environment and technology to develop the regional sales team and enable them to identify, qualify and close new business.

**This position can be home-based in NC, CA or Mid-Atlantic

Sales Leadership
  • Ensure new business mix in assigned region includes cross-SBU targets
  • Be accountable for the attainment of assigned new customer acquisition
  • Actively participate in regional team’s entire bid pursuit to ensure strategy to win is well defined
  • Track and analyze sales activities to understand how to capitalize on market trends
  • Analyze under-performing geographies, diagnose root causes and implement effective execution plans
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of Parexel solutions while staying current in understanding the competitive landscape
  • Meet and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales revenue targets

Line Management
  • Monitor and track sales team individual performance, strengths and weaknesses, and be able to communicate evaluations and execute developmental steps where necessary
  • Conduct NBA forecast meetings
  • Coach direct reports on strategies to drive deal closure
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing of regional trends, best practices across
  • teams
  • Provide the leadership necessary to attract, retain and develop a motivated, productive and competent team through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority
  • Inspire team to meet and exceed all SBU targets; create an environment of trust and teamwork, create opportunities for open dialogue, and demonstrate that you have listened to employees’ suggestions and insights
  • Maintain a positive, results-orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner

Customer Relationships
  • Cultivates strong relationships with key decision-makers within accounts and develops deep knowledge of client organizations
  • Collaborate with Project Leaders/Project Directors to ensure client needs are being met
  • Develops business solutions addressing specific client needs using expertise, best practices and knowledge of the client’s needs and key industry drivers

Qualifications

Skills
  • Proven sales track record of achieving/surpassing sales goals
  • Excellent Business/Industry awareness and a thorough understanding of industry trends and impact on the business
  • Solid understanding of commercialization and the principles of drug discovery and development
  • Excellent analytical skills in assessing and interpreting customer business data
  • Ability to influence others internally and externally
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
  • Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication sills
  • Ability to develop and coach team members

Experience
  • Substantial years previous experience in B2B sales role, preferably in a CRO or consulting background specializing in life sciences
  • Multiple years previous experience managing a team

Education
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred


Travel as required by the business
